The Mackinac Island Community Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of Bill Borders to its team.
Bill brings a diverse background in business, community development, economic development, and higher education, with a career spanning more than five decades. Prior to joining the Foundation, Bill held leadership roles in furniture manufacturing as well as the wholesale and retail building supply industries before transitioning to the nonprofit sector.
His work with the Lincoln Hills Development Corporation lends some valuable experience with low-income assistance housing initiatives. This will be a tremendous asset to the community foundation as we continue to work on providing much needed housing opportunities.
Bill says, “Mary Jo, (his wife) without whom none of the above would have been possible, and I are equally proud of our work in the community since moving here. Being involved with the school, the church, community theatre, community auctions and Mackinac Connect have helped us establish a new home!”
