Mackinac Island Community Foundation trustees and staff are pleased to announce recent grant decisions totaling $140,899 supporting projects and programs on Mackinac Island. “This support allows our island and local organizations to address pressing issues in our community, through education, mental health services, capacity building and more. We’re also pleased to be granting toward further housing opportunities for the seventh year in a row,” says Executive Director, Stephanie McGreevy. The Youth Advisory Committee had multiple youth-related applications this summer, granting full funding to programs related to recreation, education, and horse culture. The community foundation’s family donor-advised funds were also involved in grantmaking this cycle: “MICF’s donors are making an impact on the Island they love,” says Mrs. McGreevy, “It’s thrilling to know our donors are fostering a thriving community year-round!” Below is a brief summary of each award.Mackinac Arts Council | $7,200 Support for Music on the Trail 2024.
