Welcome to Mackinac Island! Whether you are here for the summer or as a year round resident, we hope that the information provided in the Resource Guide will help you navigate your move and answer any questions you may have about life here on Mackinac.

Financial Information

The Mackinac Island Community Foundation is a nonprofit, publicly accountable organization. Please find our most recent Audit and 990 Tax Return on this page. Complete hard copies of both these documents are also available at our office.

The Community Foundation’s Finance Committee is responsible for overseeing the financials of the organization, including quarterly financial reports, internal financial controls, annual operating budget and the annual financial Audit.

The Community Foundation’s Investment Committee is responsible for overseeing our investment portfolio and making appropriate recommendations to our Board of Trustees, who hold ultimate responsibility. The Community Foundation uses the services of an investment consultant to assist in the selection of funds and/or money managers to monitor investment performance. A copy of our Investment Policy Statement is available upon request. Information regarding our investment consultant, copies of our quarterly investment performance, and fees charged are also available upon request.

Privacy Statement

The Mackinac Island Community Foundation is committed to protecting the privacy of its donors. The Foundation collects and uses personal information such as name, address, phone number and email addresses (when a donor voluntarily provides it to us). This information is gathered in order to maintain complete and accurate records for Foundation activities, and for IRS purposes.

The Foundation’s Board of Trustees and staff are bound by the Foundation’s Confidentiality Policy. The Mackinac Island Community Foundation does not sell, trade or share donor information with any other organization.
